LTG Maintenence & Lubrication

Engine Oil

  • Type: 5W-30 Full Synthetic, Dexos Approved

  • Capacity:

    • RWD: 4.7 liters / 5.0 quarts

    • AWD: 5.7 liters / 6.0 quarts

  • Change Interval: Every 3,000–5,000 miles (4,800–8,000 km)

  • With Filter: Always replace with oil changes.

πŸ’‘ Tip for Modified LTG Engines:
If you’re running E85 and/or higher boost levels, many owners have found better protection using 0W-40 or 5W-50 full synthetic oil. This helps combat direct injection (DI) fuel dilution, which can thin the oil under aggressive driving or extended high-load conditions.

Engine Coolant

  • Type: Dexcool (Orange, GM Vehicle Coolant)

  • Capacity: 7.6 liters / 8.0 quarts
